About the Business Operations Hub
The Business Operations Hub incorporates the following areas of responsibility: Compliance, Quality (ISO), IT, Legal, Business Assurance (incorporating business operations support, process and controls), Risk and Sustainability. Our primary role is to ensure that we consistently maintain high standards of quality, legal and regulatory compliance, foster sustainable growth practices, and drive operational discipline across our business operations in pursuit of operational excellence.
Under the management of our Chief Operating Officer, the team focuses on enabling opportunity and competitive advantage through a customer service mindset and a desire to continuously improve our business operations. The Hub works closely with the Commercial, Sales & Marketing, Talent, Finance, Engagement and Delivery Hubs to ensure best-in-class service and outcomes for the organisations we work with.
About the Role
At the heart of Tecknuovo’s growth ambitions, as ESG & Social Value Executive, you will drive Tecknuovo’s ESG and social value strategy, ensuring it is embedded across the business, supporting our public sector bid competitiveness, enhancing our reputation with internal and external stakeholders, and directly contributing to our commercial success.
You will have a dual reporting line into the Chief Operating Officer and the People Director, reflecting the cross-functional nature of this role. Your primary focus will be:
Developing and executing Tecknuovo’s ESG and Social Value Strategy, aligned with the UK Government’s Social Value Model (PPN 002), the Procurement Act 2023, and our commercial objectives
Supporting the hub on performance and continuous improvement across our ESG accreditations, including ISO 14001, EcoVadis, Achilles, and Joscar (ACE)
Taking the lead on Tecknuovo’s B-Corp certification journey under the new B Lab Standards V2.1
Developing ESG and social value data collection, measurement, and reporting capabilities that demonstrate tangible impact to customers, stakeholders, and the market
Championing social value delivery on customer contracts, including designing and managing community partnerships, volunteering programmes, and social value commitments
Driving digital sustainability practices in collaboration with our Delivery Hub, ensuring Tecknuovo’s technology services reflect responsible and sustainable principles
Maturing our ESG practices across the business and building ESG awareness and capability among our people
Through your work, you will directly contribute to Tecknuovo’s ability to win and retain public sector contracts, strengthen our market position, and enhance our reputation as a responsible and purpose-driven technology consultancy.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to both challenge and take initiative.
Key Responsibilities
ESG & Social Value Strategy
Develop and execute Tecknuovo’s ESG and Social Value Strategy, agreed with the Chief Operating Officer, and aligned with the UK Government’s Social Value Model (PPN 002), the Procurement Act 2023, UN Sustainable Development Goals, and Tecknuovo’s commercial growth objectives
Lead the development and delivery of Tecknuovo’s social value programme, including setting measurable targets, tracking delivery against commitments, and producing Tecknuovo’s annual Social Value Report
Develop and manage community partnerships, charity relationships, and social enterprise collaborations that deliver meaningful social impact aligned with our strategy
Design and manage Tecknuovo’s employee volunteering programme, working with Hubs to maximise participation and impact
Ensure adherence to ESG compliance, including legislation and objectives, while maintaining risk mitigation and control measures across the business
Conduct risk assessments, review audits (internal and external), and monitor ESG compliance across the organisation
ESG Accreditations & Standards
Lead Tecknuovo’s B-Corp certification journey, managing the B Impact Assessment, coordinating cross-functional evidence gathering, and driving implementation of required policies and systems under the B Lab Standards V2.1
Working closely with the Hub to maintain compliance with ISO 14001, including the environmental management system, document control, and documented records (policies, SOPs, objectives, KPIs)
Support with external sustainability ratings and accreditations, including EcoVadis, Joscar (ACE), and Achilles, driving continuous improvement in scores and ratings
Support with new accreditations that align with social and governance objectives, such as Living Wage Employer, Disability Confident, and Social Value Quality Mark
Maintain external ESG and compliance information held on compliance platforms and via public sector frameworks
Bid Support & Customer Social Value Delivery
Lead the development and preparation of social value proposals for public sector bids, ensuring alignment with PPN 002, the Social Value Model, and contract-specific requirements
Complete ESG and compliance questionnaires for RFPs and bids
Manage the implementation and delivery of social value commitments on awarded contracts, including tracking, reporting, and governance
Prepare and deliver ESG and social value reporting for customer governance calls, demonstrating measurable impact against contractual commitments
Develop social value case studies and evidence of impact to strengthen future bid submissions
Carbon Reduction & Environmental Management
Lead carbon reduction annual calculations and the carbon reduction plan, including organisation, collection, and interpretation of data at both enterprise and project level, ensuring best practice to avoid greenwashing
Progress Tecknuovo’s alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and develop the roadmap toward validated target
Collaborate with the Delivery Hub to develop and promote sustainable technology and green software practices, including understanding the digital carbon footprint of Tecknuovo’s services
Develop and implement environmental initiatives including e-waste recycling, paperless operations, and sustainable travel policies
ESG Data, Reporting & Communications
Drive the collection, organisation, and analysis of ESG and social value data to meet internal and external reporting needs
Develop ESG dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track performance against KPIs and targets
Prepare Tecknuovo’s annual social value report and responsible business reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with Marketing to prepare communications on ESG and social value initiatives for internal and external audiences
Develop and maintain Tecknuovo’s public-facing ESG narrative, ensuring our website, case studies, and marketing materials reflect our strategy and achievements
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ESG Lens)
Collaborate with the People Director to ensure the social dimension of ESG is embedded in Tecknuovo’s people practices, including EDI data collection, reporting, and target-setting
Support workforce diversity commitments in public sector bids, including creating pathways for underrepresented groups into technology careers
Drive social value initiatives that promote digital inclusion, skills development, and opportunities for disadvantaged communities
ESG Awareness, Training & Culture
Develop, roll out, and track ESG and social value training initiatives for our people, ensuring understanding of ESG compliance, management systems, standards, and legal requirements
Identify areas for improvement in ESG and compliance policies and procedures, making recommendations and leading implementation
Champion ESG awareness and innovation across Tecknuovo, building a culture where sustainability and social value are embedded in how we work
Represent Tecknuovo at ESG and social value industry events, networks, and forums to build external profile and stay current on best practice

Your Experience
Essential
2-4 years’ experience in an ESG, sustainability, social value, and/or corporate social responsibility role
Demonstrable experience in delivering ESG or social value strategies
Experience with public sector procurement, including understanding of the Social Value Act 2012, PPN 06/20, PPN 002, and the Procurement Act 2023
Experience managing ESG accreditation platforms (e.g., EcoVadis, Achilles, Joscar, B Impact Assessment)
Experience with carbon accounting, environmental management systems, or ISO 14001
Experience preparing social value or ESG content for bids, tenders, or RFPs
Strong analytical skills with experience collecting, interpreting, and reporting ESG data
Experience working in a fast-paced, scaling business environment
Desirable
Experience in a technology consultancy, digital services, or professional services environment
Experience with B-Corp certification or the B Impact Assessment
Knowledge of GHG Protocol, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and carbon reduction planning
Experience with social value measurement frameworks (e.g., TOMs, Impact Evaluation Standard, Social Value Portal, Thrive)
Experience managing community partnerships, volunteering programmes, and/or charity collaborations
Understanding of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and their application in a corporate context
Experience with CSRD, ESRS, or other emerging ESG reporting frameworks
